An Intimate Moment With Simon Peter
Passage: Luke 5:1-11
Reflection Questions
1. Many came to listen, few responded. Are we simply listening, or are we responding to the words of truth, life, and hope Jesus left for us to feed on?
2. Jesus wanted to get in Simon’s boat. It was dirty, and smelly from fishing. Are we willing to let Jesus get into our boat? If Jesus knocked unannounced on the door to our house, we would let Him come in and see the mess?
3. Jesus approached the boat while Simon was busy working on his nets…Are we too busy to let Jesus to interrupt and intervene in our busy schedules?
4. Against all his common sense and experience, Simon submits to Jesus, even though he was an expert. Are we too much of an expert in certain areas to obey Jesus?
5. When do we expect to meet our Maker? On a Sunday morning in our finest Sunday dress, or on a Tuesday afternoon while we are down cleaning the bathroom floor, or on a Thursday evening when unkind words slip from our mouths toward someone we love?
