2:8 God plants a garden and places man there to tend it.

2:24 God gives us a definition of marriage

Gen 3  Eve is deceived by the serpent, and eats of the forbidden tree. She then turns and shares  her sin with her husband. This is called the “fall of man”. Both Adam and Eve knowingly and willfully ate fruit they knew was forbidden.

Before this time, they had lived holy lives in the very presence of God. They worked and tended the garden and enjoyed close fellowship with God. Since the fall, God has sought to redeem mankind from evil, and restore fellowship. Below are examples of God’s initiatives in Gen 3

3:8-9     Although Adam and Eve hide from God, God calls out to them

3:15     God cursed the serpent, and promises One who would defeat him

3:21     God replaces their coverings of leaves with more suitable garments.

3:21-24 God protects A&E from eternal separation while they were in this fallen state by banning them from the

garden and guarding the tree of life.
